Children’s Religious Education

The Evening Religious Education program (ERE) is for students in grades 1 through 8 who attend public, non-Catholic private or home schools.  Our children meet throughout the school year, September through April.  We currently use the Faith and Life series texts from Ignatius Press.  Our dedicated and trained catechists meet with our children weekly and provide support and resources for parents.

To enroll a child in the program or for other information contact Betsy Dunman at

Church of Holy Spirit Evening Religious Education Registration Form 2017-18

Stewardship families $30 per child or $70 per family; non-stewardship and non-parish $75 per child or $160 per family (Check payable to Church of the Holy Spirit)

If your child is new to the program submit a copy of their baptism certificate to the Ministry Center

Please note: Children involved in sacrament preparation (1st Penance, 1st Eucharist, Confirmation) must attend weekly religious education classes as well as specific sacrament preparation classes. ERE at Holy Spirit meets from September through March, so do not schedule sports or other activities on Wednesday evening. If you cannot attend Wednesday classes you must be enrolled and attending another parish's Religious Education program and provide documentation.

Parent / Guardian commitment - The Church of the Holy Spirit Religious Education program is a partnership between parish and family. It is not a substitute for Sunday Mass. Both participation in the ERE program and weekly Mass attendance is essential for the spiritual growth of your child. Your child must be punctual for all classes and excessive absences could result in the postponement of a sacrament. If your child misses ERE he/she will be ineligible to participate in sports practices or games until the student returns to class.
