What's Happening?!

Hello!
My name is John Brockmeier and I am the youth minister here at Holy Spirit and also at Holy Trinity parish. Here's some of the things our youth group has been up to:

In mid July the Junior high youth group visited Atria Springdale assisted living home to visit with the residents and sing karaoke for them. Everyone really enjoyed themselves! This was followed by a trip to Holiday World for the day! It was a great chance to get away and have some fun in the sun!

The most recent event was a service opportunity. The junior high and high school youth groups held a car wash after the 10 am mass at Holy Spirit to raise money for a refugee family we sponsored through Catholic Charities. That following Friday we met up and used the money to purchase a Welcome Basket for the family. The youth had a great time going to the store to purchase everything! Then we visited with the family and gave them the Welcome Basket. They are from Nepal and have just come to America. It was a very enjoyable visit, and they even treated us to some delicious tea!
