MASS INTENTIONS: The Church has a long and rich tradition of offering Mass for special intentions. Usually this is for the remembrance of someone who has died. We often request a Mass be said on their birthday or the day they died. Just as we prayed for the deceased while they lived, we can ask the Church to pray for them in death. If you would like to have a Mass offered for your deceased loved one, or for other special intentions such as an anniversary or birthday, contact Shannon or Karen in the Ministry Center, 893-3982. HYMNAL DONATIONS: A heart-felt thank-you to all the many parishioners and friends of the parish who have generously donated 565 of our 750 new hymn books! God bless you! All the gifts received to date have been acknowledged with donor plates affixed to the inside front cover of the hymnals. We still have a little less than two hundred books with no donor plates, so it is not too late to make a gift in memory of someone, in honor of someone, or simply as a gift of you or your family. ATHLETIC NEWS ATHLETIC COMMITTEE: The Athletic Committee is in need of two women who would be interested in serving on the committee for a three year term. If you are interested, please drop off a brief bio at the Ministry Center. A member of the Athletic Committee will gather the bios and contact each interested person. Thank you!! BASEBALL ANYONE: The Athletic Committee is hoping to resurrect a baseball program. The committee is requesting that any parishioners or school families with children in grades 3-8 contact Bob Burt, Jr., at 445-7508 or burtyaz8@att.net to voice your child’s interest in playing for the Falcons this summer. You can give a wonderful gift and save on taxes at the same time. PLEASE REMEMBER HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR WILL. OUTREACH MINISTRY THE SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK is probably one of the most misunderstood sacraments that we have available to us. Many Catholics continue to think of this sacrament as ‘the Last Sacrament’ or the ‘Last Rites’. Neither of these terms is accurate since the sacrament is available to many others not in danger of death. And many people miss out on the abundance of grace that is received through the anointing. Grace and spiritual help that may be needed during illnesses: mental, emotional, spiritual as well as physical. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is offered each Thursday morning after the 8:15 liturgy. If you or someone you know are planning to have tests, a surgical procedure; if he/she is experiencing depression or other emotional or mental difficulties or spiritual turmoil, please consider receiving this gift of our faith.
